Is it too soon to call Sonora, the next Silicon Valley of Mexico? It’s definitely having a tech boom! Universities here are ditching the dusty books and giving students the real-world skills companies actually want. Think, working on real projects and scoring internships with local software companies (like us, XIPE!).

Recently we signed an agreement with TecMilenio University for an internship program for their new engineering software development program. That’s on top of other 3 universities like Tecnológico de Monterrey, Instituto Tecnológico de Hermosillo, and Universidad de Sonora — Tec Milenio is number four!



Our goal is to partner with as many tech universities as possible. We want to help them update their programs to address the challenges that the future of work is presenting before us


That’s why we, the tech industry, need to step up. We gotta nurture our own talent, not just rely on universities. So, we’re opening our doors to students and grads for extra training. We’ll teach them the latest skills companies are hungry for. It’s a win-win: students get the experience they need to land awesome jobs, and companies get a pipeline of fresh talent ready to hit the ground running.


So, is Sonora the next Silicon Valley?
